Pleasantly surprised. Got the fresh pork belly, intestines, and seafood pancake and all were delicious. Korean places are known for their iffy (ok, awful) service by the older Korean ladies but this place was fine. The banchans were plentiful and they weren't weird about bringing us more when we asked.
Btw, they aren't very hip so they don't have the flavored soju that many of the more modern places have. It's not the kind of place that is bumping k-pop music and has that young vibe. So choose wisely. -

So my very first experience coming here actually wasn't the best. I came for dinner to eat naengmyeon, a Korean cold buckwheat noodle dish, which ended up being exceedingly meh, a definite would-not-come-again. If my first time coming had been my last time coming, I probably would have given this place 1 or 2 stars.
But a few weeks later, someone mentioned to me that they heard this place does pretty good non-AYCE kbbq. So I decided to give it another chance and stop by one more time. Turns out, their kbbq is much MUCH better than their noodles. In particular, I like the sides that they offer compared to other kbbq places in the area, like the radish wrap and the scallions. Pretty glad I ended up giving Nak Won another shot because so far, I haven't found anywhere that I would consider to offer a better à la carte kbbq experience. -

I came here with a group of six for dinner and had an odd experience. We ordered a coupe of beef bulgogi and pork belly orders. Since the table is small they cooked our meats elsewhere and brought it to our table. The banchan sides were pretty good and we ate it pretty quickly. However, when we asked for more the waitress said we "did not order enough to deserve more banchan" which was pretty rude considering we ordered plenty. She did bring us more kimchi as if she was doing us a favor. The bulgogi was pretty good but the pork belly was fairly plain. I did like the sesame sugar sauce with the pork belly but it was still just ok.
They also upcharged us on the tip a dollar (which they already automatically added 20%). Although it was only an extra dollar they still argued with us for 15 minutes until they finally charged us the original amount (which only took a second to change). Most people probably wouldn't care or notice this but it still seems very dishonest of them.
The food was decent but it does not seem worth coming back to. -

A $7.99 lunch set with a grilled mackerel, soybean soup, rice and side dishes - this is really all that needs to be said!
I'm not sure what took me so long to come here, but I was not disappointed. The decor is really not there but I loved that homely vibe, and the fact they didn't play music helped because frankly, they don't need that. Floor staff were attentive and friendly, and food came out reasonably quickly. My only gripe is that the hot pot beef bibim rice didn't come with the usual veggies you'd expect in a bibin bowl, but I guess that's just how it is.
All in all, can't put a price on a meal like that..or let's just leave it at $7.99. -

Honey Pig and Iron Age have some competition. My family and I loved this place because it's quieter, more homey, more intimate, and more authentic (according to my dad, who was stationed in Korea long ago). He approves of their galbi.
The cold soup, spicy soup, steamed egg, galbi, bulgogi, appetizers, and dumplings hit the spot for us, but the pork belly was just okay. We needed to use a lot of sauce to flavor it up.
A warning for the cold soup: They cut up the noodles in front of you only a little, so it can be a bit of a choking hazard if you don't have enough water or don't cut it up more yourself. It took too much effort just to chew them up enough to swallow. It took way longer than I expected. It was a bit annoying, but it was good.
